Teach with BandWorks
BandWorks teachers are the heart of our program. They work closely with students, often taking on the role of mentor and inspiring kids (and adults!) to become more passionate about music and learning. We are committed to supporting our BandWorks teachers with training, resources, feedback and guidance. In addition to being accomplished professional musicians, our teachers are passionate about teaching. They are outgoing, dynamic and charismatic, and work well with groups of varying age and skill levels. If you are interested in the possibility of teaching at BandWorks, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteer Teacher Assistant – Summer Camp
We’re looking forward to another summer of successful camps with BandWorks! We will be training Teaching Assistants to work with kids in our programs this summer, to apply for Summer 2022 please fill out this online form: BandWorks Teacher Assistant (TA) Application
TAs may volunteer in all of our summer locations: Oakland, San Rafael and Los Altos. TA assignments are made on an “as-needed” basis, depending on the total number of campers at any given site, and for any specific camp program.
Please note that Teaching Assistants work as volunteers and are not compensated. We do require that all TA’s attend a short training. BandWorks will provide proof of volunteer hours for students who need to show community service work.
TA’s must be 15+ years old and have a number of years of musical experience, preferably (but not necessarily) some experience working with kids. We need TAs who are enthusiastic, outgoing and self-confident. Here are the basic requirements to be considered for a TA position with BandWorks:

- must have at least 3 years experience on their primary instrument
- ability on additional instruments a plus
- previous BandWorks experience a plus, but not mandatory
