Phoenix Uprising

BandWorks Pro Band Phoenix Uprising has a great free show coming up at the Venetia Valley Carnival in San Rafael. They are playing on Saturday, October 13th at 12:00pm at 177 North San Pedro Road, across from the Jewish Community Center.

If you haven’t seen these teens rock yet, they are a must to check out!  Although they’re still young (just started high school!), they had been playing for years before coming together at BandWorks a year ago, and are already gigging regularly throughout the Bay Area in addition to their regular BandWorks shows.

Recently, the band played at the Mission Creek Music and Arts Festival, and we couldn’t be more proud.  Not only did they rock out their sets at the Mission Creek Music and Arts Festival at Mosswood Park, set in a beautiful outdoor amphitheater, but they did so despite the various obstacles and challenges which came up.  With every performances there are snafus, and this one proved no different with equipment issues and rambunctious audience members of both four-legged and tiny two-legged variety.  You can find their Mosswood Park performance on Youtube by clicking here: Phoenix Uprising Mosswood

BandWorks Summer Campers Are Rockin’

What are you up to this summer?  Here at BandWorks, classes are in full swing and each week students all over the Bay Area are learning to rock their instruments with their band as they cover songs by artists such as Green Day, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and/or compose original tunes of their own. And what a talented group of kids we have!  The following videos were taken just after two days of rehearsal.

Breed (Just Yeah – BandWorks Summer Camp)

Communication Breakdown (Heavy Metal Hobbits – BandWorks Summer Camp)

And it’s not just the Middle Schoolers and Teens who are rockin’!  BandWorks teacher Seth Affoumado, who also works as a professional photographer, took these great shots of some of our younger students strutting it at camp.

Want to rock and roll this summer?  BandWorks Summer Camps are still registering, so take a look at our schedule of classes and register with us on our new online registration system!  http://bandworks.com/camp.php
